THE HUMAN SPIRIT IS STRONG. Despite the immensity of our various kinds of suffering, I believe that everyone needs a chance to recover / rediscover the ability to lead a happy and fulfilling life. My philosophy is rooted in the belief that mental and emotional well-being are integral to overall health, and that therapy can be a powerful tool for achieving this balance. Resilience rebuilds with help.

My maternal great-grandparents were immigrants arriving in the early 1900s from Sicily and the Netherlands. Both found each other here in the U.S. and accepted work in the early days of The Eastern Pontiac Asylum, circa 1925. My great grandmother worked as a nurse in the psychiatric children's ward and my great grandfather a psychiatric nurse on the men's schizophrenic ward. My maternal grandfather followed in their footsteps by attaining his MSW and psychoanalytic training and LMFT and founding his own clinic in Birmingham, Michigan (1973). My maternal grandmother worked as a Montessori Teacher before attaining her Masters in Counseling from Oakland University. Both of my parents were teachers. My father also secured his MSW and worked as as school social worker with families and teens before training and entering the field of family law.
I am a licensed M.S.W. (Master of Social Work) and provide case supervision to LLMSW's seeking full licensure and other practitioners looking to enhance their practice. I also hold a B.S.W. in World Religions and Psychology with a post-bacc equivalent of a third focus area in Speech Pathology and Audiology.
After a decade of teaching children and working with families in an ecologically based school, and raising my own daughter, I trained to enter the field of clinical social work practice and attained my MSW. During my MSW work I took a cultural/ international track traveling to Ireland, El Salvador, Guatemala, and spending time on the reserve with the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe teachers and elders. I interned and accepted employment at a social service agency with Holocaust Survivor Services. There, I gathered experience with people who have survived extensive genocidal trauma and explored trauma focused narrative therapy applications. In this role I collected survivor's war histories, provided home visits to survivors, and worked to secure indemnification applications on behalf of eligible survivors via The Claims Conference (serving survivors who are still eligible for unclaimed German government war reparations).
Following this, I worked within an area group practice providing psychotherapy to individuals treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and panic disorders. During the COVID 19 pandemic I moved my practice to virtual treatment (telehealth) creating an extra large weekly caseload aiming at providing my clients and as many new clients as I could, with top notch mental health services.
Cranberry Clinic Mental Health Practice, PLLC is the newest iteration of my work in mental health. I also work within a group psychology practice where I enjoy interacting with colleagues and other professionals working in the field and am able to accept *some insurances.
I welcome you and look forward to working together!
